Come fairtime, the Shenandoah Valley Community Club members contribute their best produce, herbs, wine, etc. for display in the main exhibit hall. This fair's theme is,"Cake, Cattle, & Rock and Roll". Usually, Vicki Matulich (at Dobra Zemlja Winery) paints a very realistic mural, but this year she passed the booth duties to Mike Spinetta. The Cow The Trees
That big Hereford cow there is sporting a Jerry Lee Lewis hairdo & whistling rock n’ roll. And, yes, it’s about to be abducted by aliens (a supernatural extension of the shake, rattle & roll fair theme). Thanks to: Mary Cowan’s cow "Dolly", Hein & Co. Bookstore for the records, and Marla Moreno for getting supplies!
Fruit on Records! Rockin' Cow!
Eat your veggues! Robert Moody brushed in all the background elements (aliens, trees, etc.!) of the mural & built the cake/cow/guitar you see here -- and that’s Spackle for frosting, so don’t dip your finger in it. See more of Michael's art.
