_____Scenes of Spinetta Family Vineyards are the subjects of Michael Spinetta's acrylic and mixed media paintings. He helps build the rock walls, raise the flowers, and grow the grapes - and then he paints them. Michael's media of choice are ceramics, glass, acrylics, pastels, digital photo manipulation, and rocks. If Michael is at the bar, he’ll talk to you about the images or the butterfly garden.
Many of these pieces online are sold (THANK YOU), and are a few years old. See The Gold Country Times article for some recent large paintings, and visit the Library on Main Street Plymouth.

Michael's art elsewhere: '02 Fair; '01 Fair; '00 Fair; personal site. This website's text, photography, and graphics are created and maintained by Mike.

The "perfect" bunch of Zinfandel grapes interpreted over and again. The vine is near the ruins of an old miner's house. Crisp black lines, metallic accents, and roughly hewn textures define the beauty of the natural subject as much as the surreal, flat, "stained glass effect" breaks the subject down.

The top third of each of the "Zinfandel Vine" paintings is a vista: "01" is the boulder facing east, atop the forest; "02" is the boulder facing northwest to the old zins, down into the Cosumnes River canyon; "03" is the oak knoll atop a hill facing south. These paintings break down perspective, location, and horizon "rules."
