The Agave Blooms!

It's been through all kinds of weather. Now, finally, our blue agave is blooming. Jim planted it here back in 1988, from a landscaping job he did in Rocklin. To the left you see it covered in snow in 2006.

Where does all this energy comes from in a drought year like 2008? These pictures were taken when all the smoke was in the air in early July.

Click for a Dragonfly Desktop Wallpaper. These pics were taken July 27th. We're trying to figure out exactly how tall it is. It's probably 30 feet in the air, counting the rock wall's height.
