| PROMOTING ART FOR LOCAL KIDS |
| _____Kids can win Spinetta Wildlife Awards in various art shows in the county through the year. (It goes to one adult winner during the fair, too.) This tradition has carried on for over a decade, and it's fun to see the winners each year. Pictured to the right is Sarah W.'s Mixed Medium mules, the big winner for 2002. |

| MORE WINNERS |

To the left are other age class winners for the 2002 Amador County Fair. You can see Mackenzie's leopard, 'Howdy's' tiger, and Christy's chipmunk.
In another competition, The Annual Student Art Show sponsored by the Amador County Artists Association, one Spinetta Wildlife Award is given to a student at each of the three high schools in the county. |

| AND IN OTHER NEWS ... |
 |
Jackson Elementary School started up a youth gardening program this year. We donated quite a few of our older, neutral barrels to the kids -- and enough soil to fill them up! Each of the students sent a drawing and letter to us as thanks. Pictured are the school by Rebecca and Joshua's bee. |
