Edition Accessories
Feather
_____Why do people like to buy art? What are "accessories?" Well, you purchase art because: you believe the value of the art exceeds the price; you need a special one-of-a-kind gift, or you love the artist's style (and you know you can't paint like she can.) Some originals and limited edition art pieces include 'accessories' that enhance the final presentation and value. The barn owl feather above (65% size) -- is really not a feather. It is a carving by artist Jerry Polan included with one of Joe Garcia's prints.

HUNTING STAMPS AND PRINTS
1996 - 1997 California Upland Game Bird Medallion _____Territories for wildlife are preserved with the funds raised by hunting licenses and conservation groups. The oldest federally funded art competition, the Federal Duck Stamp Contest, produces limited edition prints. Various series of these prints include the regular edition, the artist's proof edition, gicleé edition, canvas edition, governor's edition, DU edition, and more. Special editions are usually proofed under stricter conditions (because of different materials used in a canvas edition, for example) and sometimes include collectible "accessories." The stamps and the medallion pictured are featured with different California Upland Game Bird Stamp prints painted by Joe Garcia.
REMARKS ON REMARQUES AND "750 S/N"
Remarques are original sketches or miniature paintings that artists draw directly onto a print. A remarque individualizes a print and increases the value because no other collector has that image.

"750 S/N" means the artist allowed only 750 total prints in that edition, and he signed ("S") and numbered ("N") them. The artist approves each print as an accurate representation of the original.
MINI WINE LABEL PROOFS OF THE WINERY LABEL SERIES PRINTS
A Pine Dove Minilabel! _____The limited edition prints (except the Brown Dove) in the Charles Spinetta Winery Label Series have a mini wine label proof printed below the main image (printed separately on the Black Swans.) The 3.5" x 2.25" mini wine label proof shows the accuracy of the colors and image on a smaller scale. Click here to see the "Pine Dove" label piece. Many art collectors like to display their framed print with a matching bottle of wine. Older (full size) wine labels are available for sale at the wildlife art gallery, and collectors frame these or put them on bare wine bottles for display.
