Frank Magsino (b. 1937) grew up in San Jose on Mindoro Is. in the Philippines. Like other detail-oriented artists in our gallery, Magsino sometimes uses single hair brushes to achieve great effects in lighting and perspective. Magsino worked for advertising agencies and national publications in the islands, and moved to the U.S.A. in 1968. Western art and movies influence his subject matter here. As a result, he garners national attention in the art world, and each of his miniature artworks are magnificent.

A quote from Robert Manley, a California native: "Although time and situation have forced me to put aside some of the things of my childhood, my passion for the wild has never diminished. When alone with nature I feel a peace and serenity that can be matched in no other way. If my art can in some way enhance, inspire or maintain continued care and understanding of nature then I will feel successful."
